The compass!
The compass for those of you that may not be able to afford an electronic device (or just practice ghost hunting around your residence) before you purchase your first EMF (Electromagnetic Field Meter) detector. A compass can be purchased in just about any sporting goods store or section of your local Super Store. I can’t guarantee the results that you might get from one of these simple devices, but other ghost hunters have used them in the past and often with successful results.

The best way to use a compass is to hold it level in the palm of your hand with your elbow bent and your forearm extending in front of you so the compass is flat in your hand. The needle on the compass should move every time you chance direction, and according to other ghost hunters the needle will start to spin when you encounter a ghost or some sort of anomalous energy field.

The Compass even though it’s a basic device can be useful because of its reported behavior in situations involving paranormal energy. And actually responds as well and some of the more expensive devices. Any abrupt change or of fluctuation in the energy field of a location causing the needle to spin would certainly be an indication that something is going on.

Scream It also helps for documentation of an area or making a map of the area your investigating. When you pick up an anomalies reading in an area, you can look at the compas and record exact location on tour map it was, and what direction it went in. It will help on further investigations.  Gho1

Yes, you should draw out a map of the investigation site, for documentation.
