Hello Team,

We have another investigation (Miss Caroline's) to do, this one should be interesting, Its has several spirits in residence. It's a home in St. Augustine Fl, Lucy Abbott's house. We have the place for the 3rd of April starting the afternoon through the 4Th at about 10 in the morning. The Price for the rental is $200.00 so I will need to know how many investigators plan to attend. Some will be able to sleep over at the location but that will be limited to space and availability. There might be only 2 or 3 beds, the rest will have to bring your own air bed or sleeping bag if you plan to spend the full night. So Please let me know ASAP who wants to attend. Once you advise me I will send you the correct address.

Al

 Here is a little background.

Miss Caroline's is a beautiful, Victorian house built around 1865 by Miss Lucy Abbott (1835-1929) from South Carolina.  It is a two story home with three bedrooms upstairs where Rose can be found.  Rose was a previous owner who still remains at the residence.  Her bedroom is the middle room and she loves fresh, yellow flowers (good trigger object).  I believe she is the apparition that Florida Ghost Chasers caught on their DVR system.  She was seen moving between the bedrooms upstairs.  There is a little girl who is caught on EVPS's, humming and singing.  I am not sure who this little girl is -- she has never mentioned her name.  There is a ghost dog that is heard barking occasionally.  I know that an old, grumpy man's voice has been caught on EVP's - Evidently, he was an old sailor who rented a room when he came into St. Augustine - not sure of his name though.  It seems that most of the activity takes place upstairs.  I was on an investigation at Le Pavilion, which is located next door, and was looking up at a side window when I saw the curtain pull back, like someone was looking out of it.  The house appeared to be totally dark and I don't think anyone was there.  I know that Tom & Ramona Paluh are the current owners.  I think eight to ten investigators is more than plenty.  It is not a huge place, but a team can be downstairs and one upstairs.  The house is absolutely gorgeous.  I know that Tom and Ramona did remove one of the beds from upstairs, but I am not sure which room it came out of.  I will be able to tell when I see the rooms.

Here is some additional information about Lucy Abbott -

Real estate was an area in which women made their mark, all the way back to colonial times in St. Augustine. One of the outstanding figures in this field was Miss Lucy Abbott (1835-1929). She developed the lovely Water Street area north of the Castillo de San Marcos.

The subdivision is officially known as Abbott Tract and it includes an Abbott Street as well -- it's a longtime prerogative of developers to name things after themselves. Lucy Abbott's house. was built shortly before the Civil War. Her family left when the Union forces took control of the city in 1862, and the house was used as a military hospital. It later became the first school for freed slaves in St. Augustine.

The Abbott Tract lies between the Castillo de San Marcos and the grounds of Mission of Nombre de Dios. The Matanzas River and San Marco Avenue lie on the East and west respectively. Victorian-style houses seem to set the tone for the neighborhood although there are a number of other buildings.

The Abbott Tract is a section of historic St. Augustine that dates to 1860 when Lucy Abbott, a young woman in her 20s, arrived in St. Augustine. She began purchasing land north of the Castillo de San Marcos, and by the 1870s, the astute businesswoman owned a large tract of land north of the city. She built nine structures in the area which still stand — the first house dates from 1861 and the last several from between 1885 and 1894. The Abbott Tract saw rapid development until 1904 when 126 houses lined the streets. The areas development was primarily conceived, designed and developed for residential use.

Hey Al,
Ive gotten no response from work yet on whether or not I can have the full day off, because Saturday is one of our bigger truck days, and I'm already scheduled to work( we have to put our requests in 30 days in advance before the computer generates the sched., otherwise we have to find someone to cover the shift). If I can't have the full day off, I'll still be there, but I'll have to work 1/2 a shift till 8 pm, then I'll get a bite at Mickey-D's and ride over, getting there around 930 or 10pm. If all that's ok, then definitely count me in!!!!!!!!!

BTW everyone who did any EVP work at olustee could you please bring your audio to that invetigation, so that I can make an EVP CD for the Rangers. Thank you so much.
 See everyone there!!

I'm thinking about eating at Harry's at about 1230 or so.
Harry's is located across from the Bridge of Lions, on the  street that runs in front of the Castillo. There is a pay  parking lot right behind the restaurant and parking on the street in font. They have open air seating in the courtyard portion..
They serve Cajun inspired dishes and great seafood, and pork an beef and Po'boys, etc....
V.
If I could have a show of hands on this I can get a big enough table for us all...

Hi Lisa and welcome!

I'm not sure what time I'll be there on Saturday yet, but I'm shooting for late afternoon (these roses aren't going to jump into the ground by themselves!). I told Vishi I would call when I was on the way.

Looking forward to this one! Sounds like a good group! I'll bring my coffee cup. If anyone thinks of anything last minute that we'll need, let me know. I have a sleeping bag and pillow ready!

...

Did someone say BROWNIES???
