I just saw this bit of advice in the Jan/Feb issue of TAPS Paranormal magazine:

"If your thermal camera has a video out terminal send the video data to a recording source: hook it up by usb to a laptop or for more mobility, use a small external recording device, such a as a Sony monitoring calmshell unit."

I was thinking that we could use the CAPE laptop, if we install a good video recording program, and then use the external storage unit to store the video on.

Check the documentation that came with your FLIR camera. A lot of software often accompanies high end camera gear and there may be a video capturing suite you can install on your laptop to transfer the video.
