I'm not one to send out emails about thieves and parking lot scams, etc. I think most of it can be avoided by being observant and aware of your surroundings.
However, in my narcissism, my purse was stolen out of my car, in front of my son's daycare yesterday morning. There was no sign of forced entry, and even though I was sure I'd locked the car, I probably got distracted and didn't. I'm usually diligent about locking it because I'm just paranoid enough to expect someone to be watching and waiting for the right opportunity. Yesterday they might have been! I lost two debit cards, my driver's license, my cell phone, several pieces of my handmade jewelry that I had with me, a gift card from my birthday and various other little items that all females carry around that don't really have any monetary value, but have sentimental value.
I'm very lucky that the car wasn't taken, or that the perp wasn't waiting for me when I came back outside. Please, all of you, if you have a normal routine, please be careful to watch around you because someone may be watching you and waiting for the right opportunity. Times are tough right now and that just encourages thieves and criminals to take what they can get, that you've worked hard for.
