All Team Members, the 28Th is out for the investigation. The Boy Scouts have it booked for that night. So how does Apr 11 Sound for everyone?

The Good news is:
1. The Ranger said setting up a command tent would be fine.
2. If Someone wants to bring a grill, that's OK.
3. All the times are OK.
4 there are 12 picnic tables at our disposal.
5. There will be power left on at the tower, which is near the tables.
6. The museum will be left open for us, so we will have restrooms that night.
7. He made us up some maps of interesting areas in the park, and he gave Daniel plenty for everyone to have one.
8. He said he has igloo coolers we could use to put tea or water or whatever in.

So lets see a Show of Hands on who can make it on the 11Th.

You people are good at picking dates that my husband's band is playing out!  Undecided

The good news is, I'll probably have a sitter that night already, but it makes it hard to find a sitter for both Friday AND Saturday night (Friday night so I can go to the show). Let me work on it and I'll confirm in a few days.

Unfortunately, April 11th is not going to work for me. That's Easter weekend, and I have to be at my in-laws bright and early to help with all the kiddos Sunday morning. Vishi, I'll get with you this week to coordinate and we'll play with the cameras at your place so we both know how to set them up and use them.

Attention Team Members:

Please be aware that it may be a little chilly at Olustee Saturday night (about 58) per the national weather service so please dress accordingly. Also, please wear sturdy shoes because you will be hiking around in the woods. There are snakes that are active at night (though the cool air should  keep them sluggish) and bring bug spray. The mosquitoes have made a come back. Hopefully the freeze tonight will cut back on their numbers....

I'm sorry I'm going to miss out on this one, but at least it sounds like the bugs won't be as bad as they could be for you all. I'll have my fingers crossed!!

Here is the actual www.weather.com (The Weather Channel) forcast for Olustee, Florida:

Satuday, 11 April 2009. Moon Phase: near full ( 4/9 is the full moon, so it will be bright).
High:83  Low:59
Slight chance of isolated T-storm(30%)
Wind :WSW @ 10mph decreasing overnight.

I'm hoping the near freeze tonight kills off some of the mosquitos, but they will still be bothersome. This area has had 10 inches of rain this last week, and what made this battlefield so helpful to the C.S.A. and a death sentence to the Federal Army is that its a narrow strip of land surrounded by swamp on all sides but one. Another thing is that the BF is part of the Osceola National Forest, and home to a lot of critters, including the Florida Black Bear (there have been sightings here last year),wild pigs, and the Florida Panther. So there will be a few limits to where we need to be during the night. Ive been given an informative tour and will show everyone. Another thing to pack is a cell phone and a whistle. just to be safe.
So is everyone stoked and ready. Im glad its finally here, and look forward to working with everyone again and I think this will be a fun and pruductive day and night.

I'm looking forward to the get together before hand. I am bringing my hubby and kids for the daytime portion so you all will get to meet them. Once it gets closer to the end of the day, they will go back home.

Daniel, I can pick you up in Maclenny, how about around 12:30 ?
